People also call Wageningen the “Food Valley”. This is after the example of Silicon Valley. Wageningen is an internationally oriented hub where many knowledge institutes and companies engaged in R&D in the field of food are located. This was the reason for FrieslandCampina to concentrate their Research & Design activities in Wageningen in 2010.

FrieslandCampina Innovation Center

FrieslandCampina has the ambition to become the most professional, successful and attractive international dairy industry in the world. Through cooperation (one of the most important pillars) they will achieve this innovation. By means of cross-pollination, they wants to merge her Research center with a restaurant, a meeting center, and a sensoric lab. The program consists of three main functions: laboratories, offices and a techno hall. On the ground floor there is an experience centre and on the first floor a restaurant; next to the restaurant there is a meeting centre and and a sensoric lab.
